It was reasonably clean.
Everything - The hotel staff did not have good knowledge of Moscow and the man at the counter was downright rude the whole time. The room had a large plane of glass on one of the walls so the light from the corridor/computer room kept the room bright all through the night. The shower constantly flooded the entire bathroom area. The pillow was horrible. I was warned because I had a beer with dinner and the hostel does not allow alcohol - something that is not mentioned on the booking website nor the "hostel rules" at reception. The location is still a good 10 minute walk to the nearest metro (though it's not much further to the city centre). There are better hostels in Moscow, don't stay at this one.

You may not drink alcohol in hostel, even not in common area.... The cleaners clean the floor stuff into washing tables.

I liked staff. They are friendly and helpful. I also liked the location of hostel. It is very close to the important sightseeing parts of Moscow.
